Random Fun Times

We Took a Train ride and rode TRAX downtown to see the Church History Library. Joseph loved being on a train!

Joey and Kimball loved playing with their cousins. It was fun to see Rachel and Kimball together, and see how similar they are (which makes sense being cousins who are only 11 days apart). Joseph loved to laugh and be silly with Megan and Simon!

We also got to be there to see Melissa open her mission call (Nashville TN--YEAH). We were glad it arrived when it did -- 30 minutes before we flew back to Buffalo. We gave her a "farewell to freedom party" :) the night before by putting pink highlights in her hair--crazy girl!

Lights on Temple Square

We were able to go downtown and see the beautiful lights. We didn't stay too long because it was freezing, and Kimball was too heavy for us to carry around :)

Gum Balls

Joseph became obsessed with getting gum balls from grandma and grandpa's gum ball machine. He would walk around all day saying, "Gumbo ball please."

Oh, that Joseph

While in Utah, I asked Peter to supervise Joseph eating his peanut butter and jelly sandwich. A few minutes later I walked into the room and heard Kimball smacking away. I looked down and saw him happily devouring Joseph's sandwich while Joey played with the trains and Peter played on the computer. I grabbed the sandwich away from Kimball not wanting my 6 month old to die from eating a PB and J, and Kimball was devastated. I then had to explain to Joseph that he has to always ask mommy before he shares food with Kimball.

Another funny moment was when Peter was watching a football game and I hurried to feed Joey some dinner so that Peter and I could enjoy the Gurr New Year's Eve Los Hermanos dinner. Joey kept trying to turn to see the t.v. and I kept turning him back to eat his dinner. Finally he looked at me and said, "Mommy, I want to watch run, run, kick." I guess football has a new name.

Then today we went to the store and as we were checking out, Joseph kept grabbing candy off the shelf, and I repeatedly told him to put it back. When he found something he really didn't want to put back he said, "I want to buy this one." So we had a little conversation about buying:

Mom - "How are you going to buy that?"
Joey - blank stare
Mom - "Do you have any money?"
Joey - "Yeah"
Mom - "Oh you do? Where's your money?"
Joey - (after examining his hands on all sides and looking at me confused) "Where is my money?"

We then decided to put Joey to work so he could start earning a few pennies and buy some treats in the checkout lane :)

Huntsville

We were able to spend a little time with
Great-Grandma Froerer in Huntsville. Joseph had so much fun, he didn't want to leave. He got to see tractors and cows and horses in the barn, was escorted by three dogs, jumped on the bed with Simon, and played all around the big house with his cousins.

Sledding on Christmas Day

Christmas Day was beautiful and sunny so we went sledding down Grandma and Grandpa Gurr's driveway and back yard. Joey even got to help Grandpa clean the dead bees out of the hives. Kimball got his first experience playing in the snow and was his wonderful happy self.

Utah Christmas

We had a lot of fun trying to perform the Nativity with all the cousins. It was quite the feat just trying to get them all to sit there for a picture. Our story telling of the event took about 1 minute.

Pre-Utah Christmas

Grandma Taylor and Aunt Ashley came for a 22 hour visit before we left for Utah. We had a great time and Joseph got to give the the sweet presents he picked out for them at the dollar store.

Christmas Pictures

We had to take some pictures of our cute boys by our little Christmas tree.

6 months, brotherly love, photo shoot

Kimball is now six months old and we cannot believe how fast the time has gone by. He is a fun, happy baby, who is usually very content. He is now able to sit up and play with toys or watch Joey play with his toys. He really likes to watch (and try to grab) the train as it goes along the tracks.

We took Kimball for his six month check up and he was 29 inches long and 23 pounds. He is now off the charts for both height and weight. What are we going to do with this kid?

Joseph is having more and more fun with Kimball. The other day we went to the play area at the mall and Joseph loved holding Kimball's hand so they could slide down together. It was so cute watching them having so much fun together, I thought I was going to cry--sappy Mom thing. I am just so amazed at how wonderful it is to see those two boys loving each other--it's an indescribable joy.

And the togetherness didn't end there! The next day Joseph sat in front of Kimball's exersaucer and started hamming it up. Kimball loved it and couldn't get enough.

Finally, I had a little photo shoot with Kimball so I could capture that sweet little baby face--it's so irresistible! I of course had to get one of Kimball sucking his thumb, it's his addiction. I was also able to get a really cute picture of Joey holding Kimball. In the second one together Joseph is trying to lick the back of Kimball's head. Joey is having a licking fettish lately and tries to lick everything--it's really gross.
