CAMPING--City of Rocks State Park, NM

Mid October we went camping with some friends to City of Rocks State Park in NM. It was an amazing place full of cool rocks formed from a volcanic explosion thousand of years ago. It was great because you can camp right in the rocks. The kids were in heaven climbing all around. And we all loved being with friends. We went with the Keifers (Will, Jasmine, Ethan, Madison, Sophie)
Kimball messily eating the lollipop we gave him to pacify him until we reached the campsite

"I love this place!"
Ethan caught a huge grasshopper and threw it in the fire pit. All the kids were mezmerized by it

Kimball wanted to climb up that rock so badly. Luckily Dad was there to help!
Kimball is a little too into kissing girls, we're going to have to put a stop to that! Here he is getting a long, slow kiss from little Sophie. She didn't seem to mind.
Kimball was intently setting up bottles and then knocking them over. It was great because it kept him totally entertained while we set up camp!

King of the mountain!
Joey, Madison, Ethan, Kimball

Waiting by the fire in the morning for some hot chocolate
The crazy trantula that was walking through our campsite--Aghhhhhh!

I almost killed Peter for taking this picture. Kimball is a crazy wiggle worm, so I was petrified when I looked back and saw our friend taking a picture of those boys standing over the edge of a small cliff with Kimball not attached to anything. Aye, yay, yae!

Joseph was in heaven climbing all over the rocks with his friends. I was really impressed with his rock climbing skills! Aunt Sally will have to take him for a little adventure sometime :)

This is the beloved toy in our family-a little baby MP3 player from Grandma Gurr. It's Kimball's happy place. After a late night and then hiking all morning, Kimball was not a happy camper! We pulled out the tunes and sat him in his carseat and he was the happiest kid you ever saw! He wanted to share the joy with Dad.
